Operations Manager

We have a new opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our Engineering Construction team based in our Victoria Park office. You will be responsible for the management of ECI and FEED support contacts, management of multiple construction projects to achieve business objectives, operational targets and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to achieve business objectives and operational targets. Ensure achievement of contract deliverables
• Oversee ECI and FEED support through pre-contracts to award.
• Plan and direct projects - managing time, budget and resources to meet project objectives. Ensures synergies between people, equipment, processes and strategies to implement actions from the Business Plan.
• Foster and manage relationships and negotiations with customers and contractors to ensure contract requirements are met.
• Manage the financial performance to achieve agreed targets. Implement initiatives to improve cost effectiveness.
• Drives excellent performance of operational safety across the site or workshop to achieve agreed targets. Implement initiatives to improve safety performance. Builds a culture that ensures and reinforces compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, policy or guidelines.
• Develop and drive a culture of excellence in customer service for the Business Unit that is targeting at all stakeholder levels, internal, external, peers, customers and suppliers.
• Demonstrate excellence in personal interaction, employee engagement, employee relations and teamwork. Ensure effective management of talent including employee performance, training, career development and succession.
• Enhances and expands the business by actively identifying, contributing to and taking advantage of new business development, ECI and FEED support opportunities.

What you’ll bring:

• Trade qualification (relevant trade) or Engineering degree with significant demonstrated experience in Project delivery in a multidisciplinary environment – civil, structural, mechanical, piping and electrical.
• Diploma level Project Management qualification is preferred.
• Strong understanding in project controls, commercials, budgets/construction metrics, forecasting and change management (involving changes to scope, quantities and timeframes)
• Ability to manage risk as applied to sites including quality, communication, environmental, organisational and site/project -specific (schedule, budget, etc) risk.
• Ability to effectively communicate at a senior management level within our organisation and that of our customer's and stakeholders.
