Description & Requirements

As a Subcontracts Administrator, you’ll be central to project delivery - managing subcontractor relationships, driving commercial outcomes, and ensuring contracts are administered effectively from award through to closeout. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where your ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and work autonomously will be key to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage subcontract packages across the full lifecycle - procurement, award, administration, and closeout
  • Prepare and administer subcontracts, including scope reviews, negotiations, and execution
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, progress, and compliance with contractual obligations
  • Manage variations, claims, EOTs, and commercial correspondence (RFIs, TQs, SIs, Change Orders)
  • Support cost control, forecasting, and reporting in collaboration with project teams
  • Ensure accurate documentation, record keeping, and contract compliance
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to drive project outcomes

What you’ll bring:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in Contracts/Subcontracts Administration within the resources sector (Tier 1 contractor experience preferred)
  • Strong exposure to SMP, E&I, fabrication, or heavy lift scopes
  • Solid understanding of contract law and its application within mining and oil & gas
  • Experience across various contract models (lump sum, schedule of rates, cost reimbursable, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying (desirable, not essential)
  • Flexibility to provide occasional coverage for site-based teams if required
