The role of QA/QC Inspector will see you reporting to the Quality Manager and responsible for the preparation and implementation of the construction project’s quality management policy, system and strategies within the project; providing technical advice and assistance to the project team as well as liaising with clients in relation to quality requirements.
This role will be offered on a 2:1 FIFO roster to Karratha for our new Oil & Gas construction project. Welding inspection qualification WTIA, CSWIP or equivalent is required and a NACE 2 certification.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and quality control activities for piping systems, welds, and associated components, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and standards.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and structural steelwork erection.
- Utilise non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, to evaluate weld quality and detect any defects or discontinuities.
- Review welding documentation.
- Perform material inspections, including verification of material certificates, identification, and compliance with specifications.
- Issue, follow up and close out of Non-Conformance Reports and Field Discrepancies.
- Document inspection findings, generate comprehensive reports, and maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and associated documentation.
- Collaborate with the QA/QC team to promote continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices related to piping and welding quality.
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience in a similar Welding Inspector position.
- Inspection qualification (WTIA, CSWIP or equivalent).
- Surface treatment/ coating experience with NACE 2 certification.
- Sound working knowledge of Australian standards and codes.
- Strong knowledge of the AS/NZS ISO 9001 quality systems and processes.
- Well-developed written communication, able to prepare management reports and work instructions.
- Demonstrated ability in computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
- Welding / Fabrication Trade, NDT background or relevant industry experience.
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Proof of right to work in Australia
