Monadelphous is looking for a Cost Engineer to join our Perth-based team in a full-time, permanent position. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintains detailed Project related cost analysis and estimates, including materials, labour, equipment, and services, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Project budgets.
- Provides consultation on planning, coordination, and cost control of Projects.
- Implements and manages cost control systems to monitor Project expenditures against budgets and forecasts, identifying and addressing overruns in a timely manner.
- Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of cost control strategies in line with team and Project requirements.
- Maintains project controls systems to ensure data integrity and accurate reporting is provided in a timely manner and available.
- Works with various functional areas across the authority (including project managers, procurement, commercial, legal and finance teams) to ensure best for Project outcomes are achieved.
- Prepares and presents detailed cost reports and forecasts to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting variances between actual and budgeted costs.
- Analyses Project specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
- Assesses financial risks associated with Project decisions and proposes mitigation strategies to manage potential cost overruns.
- Develops and implements effective cost tracking and reporting methodologies.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management (or similar), or relevant trade qualification and demonstrated experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar role within the construction, mining, or resource industry.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of cost control processes, capital estimates, and project forecasting.
- Knowledge and application of cost control principles.
- Experience in reviewing cost forecasts considering expenditure to date and construction programs.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Proficient in the use of POWER BI, and JDE, Dynamics or other ERMS is highly regarded.
