Zenviron have a permanent position available for an experienced Senior Electrical Primary Design Engineer to join the engineering team based in the Newcastle Office. Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing quality, safe, and commercially effective engineering designs for large scale Wind Farms and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Perform concept and detailed primary design for large scale HV infrastructure projects
• Develop single-line diagrams, HV substation layouts, MV reticulation design, engineering reports and calculations, and review for design compliance
• Prepare and review technical specifications for electrical equipment, ensuring designs/documentation meet the relevant standards AS/IEC
• Leading electrical equipment procurement activities, co-ordinating suppliers and subcontractors
• Providing technical leadership and support to other members of the Engineering team and project teams
• Providing engineering support to project electrical works including engineering investigations, site inspections, solving problems and making recommendations

What we are looking for:

• Australian recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (or be eligible to obtain on commencement)
• Proven experience in HV primary systems design, including substantial work on substation designs and/or utility grid connections
• Good working knowledge of AS 2067 and AS/NZS 3000 standards
• Strong attention to detail in the delivery of effective and high quality designs
• Strong ability to mentor engineers to develop capabilities
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
• Proof of right to work in Australia
