Zenviron are seeking a Civil Draftsperson to join engineering team based in the Newcastle Office. Reporting to the Civil Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing quality, safe, and commercially effective engineering drawings for project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in delivering critical infrastructure projects while working in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Working as part of the engineering delivery team within Zenviron, involved in the development, and ongoing refinement of bulk earthworks and related civil engineering drafting  for renewable infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding your Work Health and Safety responsibilities and actively promoting and supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others. Under the guidance of the Civil Team Leader, develop and update internal and access roads, structural, as well as earthwork drawings, using AutoCAD.
  • Providing support to other members of the Engineering team and project teams.
  • Prepare drawings and project documentation. Review and compile schedules of quantities.
  • Assist with quality control, project reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Under the guidance of the Civil Team Leader, prepare conceptual and basic design drawing packages, along with relevant documentation, for earthwork, benches, pavements, and drainage system.
  • Provide engineering support and technical assistance for project civil works. 

What we are looking for:
  • Solid understanding of civil/structural engineering principles
  • Minimum Diploma level qualification or equivalent in Civil Construction/Civil Engineering.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
