Description & Requirements

Zenviron are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Newcastle-based Engineering team, with a primary focus on power system studies for large-scale wind and BESS projects.

In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of utility-scale wind farm and BESS projects, leading key power system studies and supporting grid connection and broader design outcomes. This role is well suited to a detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to large-scale infrastructure projects.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyse and interpret project documentation, including scopes of work, specifications, planning approvals, and network connection requirements
  • Develop and maintain power system models and undertake power system studies including Insulation co-ordination, Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV), Lightning and Switching, Transformer Inrush, Load Flow, Short Circuit
  • Prepare and review technical calculations, modelling assessments, and engineering reports to support project design, meet grid connection requirements, and comply with relevant standards
  • Respond to technical queries, requests for information, and stakeholder comments
  • Support project design development and the delivery of engineering documentation
  • Coordinate engineering inputs with project teams, consultants, and relevant stakeholders, including providing guidance and recommendations to achieve best for project outcomes.
What we are looking for:

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, holding or eligible for CPEng and state-based professional registration (e.g. RPEQ, RPEV)
  • Experience undertaking power system studies using DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and either PSCAD (preferred) or EMTP for utility, transmission, or renewable energy projects
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality outputs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for technical stakeholder engagement
  • Full working rights in Australia.
