Monadelphous is currently recruiting experienced mechanical fitters with turbine, generator and valve experience, in the power distribution and generation sector for works on an upcoming 38-day outage in Queensland.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment, focusing on turbines, generators and valves. Ensuring precise alignment and fitting of components
• Conduct balancing of mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.
• Carry out mechanical repairs on shafts, journals, housings, and other components.
• Handle high-speed rotating equipment
• Read and record precise measurements, whilst maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Repair or replace worn parts such as shafts, gears, seals, impellers, fans, and bearings.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to coordinate activities.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained using steamers, washers, and other cleaning methods.

What you’ll bring:

• Proven hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, especially with large equipment like pumps, valves, gearboxes, fans, and turbines.
• A strong focus on precision, attention to detail and commitment to safety
• A Passion for working with high-speed rotating machinery
• Australian Recognised Certificate III in Fitting & Turning (or similar)
• Drivers Licence
